It enables you to think through your intervention, so that you know exactly why you do what you do, what assumptions it’s based on, and what evidence you have that it will work to achieve the outcomes you are targeting. It also serves as the basis for your monitoring and evaluation or impact measurement. You collect data in relation to it in order to find out if your expectations were accurate, what your impact was, and how you can improve.
